In Photos: PHL Azkals fall to Uzbekistan in 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier

Just coming off a friendly match against against the Maldives last week, Uzbekistan handed the Philippines their first loss 1-5 at home for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Odil Akhmedov of Uzbekistan made quick work early in the match as he scored a goal in the 1′. His teammates followed suit in the scoring barrage with Sargor Rashidov giving goal number 2 for the visiting team in the 14′. Then Igor Sergeev gave Uzbekistan their 3rd Goal to end the first half.

Sergeev was on fire as he opened the second half with yet another goal on the 65′ giving the Uzbeks a commanding 4-nil lead against the Azkals. Stephan Schrock had seen enough as he put the Philippines on the scoreboard with a goal of his own on the 68′.

The Philippines struggled to score throughout the second half as Uzbekistan’s Igor Rashodov sealed the Azkals fate with a goal in the 80′.

The Azkals will face North Korea next on October 8 in Pyongyang, North Korea.
